Your balance
Your account has a credit balance. Payments add credits; subscription renewals and overage usage deduct them. You can view your current balance and transaction history in the dashboard.
Changing plans
Switch plans at any time. You'll get a credit for the unused portion of your current plan, and the new plan is charged for the remaining period. No double-billing.
For card payments, plan changes are handled through the Stripe customer portal (linked from the dashboard).
Cancelling
You can cancel from the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then. You can also undo a scheduled cancellation before it takes effect.
What happens to my content if I cancel?
When you cancel, your pins stay active until the end of the billing period. After that, Pinner stops pinning your content.
What happens next depends on whether anyone else is holding your data:
- If your content is pinned elsewhere by your own IPFS node, another pinning service, or other network peers, it stays available on IPFS. Your CIDs are portable: pin them on another provider with no re-upload.
- If Pinner is the only node holding your content, it becomes unreachable once Pinner stops pinning it, until you re-pin it somewhere else.
This is the reality of any single pinning provider, not just Pinner. We recommend exporting your pin list before cancelling, so you know exactly what to re-pin. If availability matters for your production content, consider pinning critical data with at least two providers.
Because IPFS is content-addressed and open, there's no lock-in; migration is a pin list export and re-import, not a data migration.
